Shawn has been a welcome addition to our staff at Phred Piano Expression this past year. A graduate of William Paterson, Shawn began studying music at an early age with a major in piano and a minor in voice. She is a choir director at her church and is the accompanist for the junior choir there. Shawn is also a member of the Harmony Singers, a choral group that has their home base in Wayne, NJ, where she serves as accompanist. She loves working with children and helping them discover the joy of music.
Jody has taught the Phred Piano Expression method since 1997.  Her enthusiasm for the piano and for working with children has allowed her to enjoy great success as a piano instructor.  An accomplished performer and experienced musician, her stage appearances have included solo performances from Paris to Carnegie Hall.  She is co-founder of the NJ-based mixed-voice chamber chorus “CantaLyrica” with whom she has frequently been featured as soloist, and has worked as pianist, organist, music director, choir director, vocalist, pre-school music teacher and on children’s musical theater production teams at numerous local churches.  Guiding students of all ages toward keyboard facility brings her great joy, and she hopes to do so for many years to come!
Katerina began her piano studies in the Czech Republic at the age of seven and continued until graduating from High School. Because she enjoys working with children, she taught piano at a Day Care Center in Prague where she taught for ten years. Since coming to the United States, she is continuing her music education at Bergen Community College and has continued to work with children as a part-time nanny. She enjoys teaching the more modern American style of piano study that Phred Piano Expression offers. She finds her students respond to this much faster than they do to the European system.
Ruth is an accomplished musician who joins Phred Piano Expression with a plethora of experience. She is a native of Thailand with a rich and diverse background as a teacher and musician. Her appearances as a guest and resident pianist/organist have taken her to churches in Bangkok, New York and New Jersey. She is a member of the American guild of Organists. Ruth has experience in classroom teaching pre-kindergarten as a licensed KinderMusik educator and is a welcome addition to Phred Piano Expression.
Natasa has been studying and playing the piano since the age of nine. At the age of 12 she became a member of the Macedonian prestige youth choir as a singer and piano performer. Classically trained in Europe, Natasa has discovered the wonderful world of jazz since coming to America and joining Phred Piano Expression. She loves helping young students discover and uncover the music in their hearts. She feels learning the piano opens a new world of imagination and vision for young people.
